The city of Winter Park is making changes to the way they enforce parking. The Community Redevelopment Agency Board has earmarked funding for some new technology.
Consultants Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. conducted a study that concluded Winter Park needs another official to enforce Park Avenue parking codes. They said the city has a perception issue when it comes to parking in their well-known shopping and dining district.

The CRA Board has instead decided not to hire that additional staffer. They are instead working to improve license plate scanning technology while also taking a second look at their parking codes.
100,000 has been set aside for the new changes. The City Commission will consider a graduated fine structure at a later date.
